The Human Rights Commission of Mexico City is an autonomous agency promoting human rights in cooperation with the municipality and multiple civil society actors throughout the city. They joined Welcoming International as a local member in 2020. They are currently taking the lead in the creation of a multi-sector plan for inclusion in a handful of districts within Mexico City. They are still in the early stages of their planning and welcoming work, and more updates will be added in this space later. Theirs’ is the first Welcoming effort in Latin America, which is viewed by Welcoming International as an important region for future Welcoming work.
